“Wrought steels for mechanical and allied engineering purposes with emphasis on high carbon and high alloy steels”.

·       We function as a link between steel producers and end-users, satisfying our customer’s demands for flexibility and reliability.  Small volumes per size/grade, close dimensional tolerances, specified short notice deliveries and other customized requirements are all well within our scope and capabilities.

·       We provide thermal treatment (heat treatment) of finished metal components and/or un-worked metal to meet client’s requirements through processes that optimize metallurgical properties.

·       Our service offering includes metallurgical services – through our in-house laboratory – for destructive and non-destructive testing as well as conducting metallurgical investigations.

All of the services provided are conducted in accordance with the ISO 9001:2000 Quality Standards.

Location and Services

Our extensive special steels warehouse, heat treatment facility and metallurgical laboratory is located in Dunswart, Gauteng. This magnificent facility is supported by the Macsteel Group’s strategic network of 84 branches which are spread throughout the Republic and sub Saharan Africa.

Processes:   Heat Treatment is carried out in vacuum furnaces, Sealed Quench furnaces, Shaker Hearth furnaces, Austemper Mesh Belt furnaces and Top Hat Furnaces.
